Beautiful Nature

Hi, I'm Nafisa (Na-fee-sa).

I work with individuals, couples, and families (16+) struggling with communication, understanding racial/cultural impacts on identity, and breaking cycles of trauma.

I am known to be a direct therapist who is not afraid of big feelings (e.g., anger, shame). I provide guidance on identifying gaps in communication and shifting to a supportive lens without blame. I have training in Emotionally Focused Family Therapy- EFFT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy- ACT, Accelerated Resolution Therapy- ART, and Tree of Life.

We will work together to create a space for you to share deep hurts and develop ways to safely process these experiences. My approach to therapy is: pro-Black, pro-choice, pro-queer, pro-trans and focuses on being an affirming and inclusive therapist.

Areas of support include childhood sexual abuse, other sexual trauma, grief events (e.g., deaths, pregnancy loss, migration), relationship difficulties, pre-marital/cohabitation therapy, etc. I recognize the importance of finding a therapist who "gets it" and have professional and personal experiences with grief and trauma as a first-generation Canadian.
