Moallim Wellness
Nafisa Moallim, MSW, RSW
(she/her)
As a Somali-Canadian therapist, I possess a wealth of knowledge navigating two identities and understanding trauma. My approach to therapy is pro-Black, pro-choice, pro-queer, and pro-trans rights. I support all cultural backgrounds, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
Being a Registered Social Worker with a Clinical Master of Social Work, I am aware that therapy can be daunting and is stigmatized in many communities. Due to systemic barriers related to racism, sexism, etc., we may have been taught to minimize our trauma, which can negatively impact our overall well-being. To build trust with clients who may have internalized stigmas related to mental health, I use a relational approach.
I firmly believe that healing requires a safe space to express hurt and pain. I am committed to creating that safe space for your therapeutic journey.
About
MOALLIM | Mŭ-ah-lim
Somali word for teacher.
At Moallim Wellness, the goal is to teach wellness in a manner that is culturally responsive and sustainable for your lifestyle. Through exploration of your life history, we will work together to identify strengths, areas for support, and methods for healing.

This is the traditional land of the Nehiyaw (Cree), Denesuliné (Dene), Nakota Sioux (Stoney), Anishinaabe (Saulteaux) and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), and many more First Nations Peoples.
